AJA PAK Media is a high-capacity Solid State Drive (SSD) encased in a protective housing with a rugged connection engineered to handle the rigors of repeated use in the field, with multiple capacities from 256GB to 2TB to fit your needs. AJA  PAK Media uses a solid metal housing to protect the internal SSD drive from the bumps and bounces of field use, ensuring your media is secure.

Utilize the AJA PAK Dock Pro (sold separately) to transfer your footage over USB-C via the USB 3.2 Gen 2 standard. PAK Media comes with a one-year warranty.

PAK Media uses a solid metal housing to protect the internal SSD drive from the bumps and bounces of field use, ensuring your media is secure.

The reinforced connector is engineered for repeated insertion and removal cycles, unlike the connector built into SSD drives, which is designed primarily to be inserted into a computer and rarely removed.

There are four PAK Media sizes available offering a balance between price and long recording needs and you may order the media as preformatted in either HFS+ or exFAT for fast deployment upon arrival.

PAK Media uses “Enterprise Level” flash memory. This is the highest quality rating available for digital media.

Enterprise-rated memory can have up to 10 times the endurance of consumer media, critical for professional use. Additionally, enterprise memory provides data retention during power loss, essential for the preservation of your precious content.

Consumer media often varies in quality from batch to batch under the same name and label. Enterprise Level media like AJA PAK media is guaranteed to run to the same high-quality standards every time, from unit to unit.

This QC and testing is a key component for reliability and predictability in high-pressure professional settings.

PAK Media’s connector is a ruggedized connector rated for thousands of Insertions.

PAK’s connector is designed for multiple insertions into Ki Pros and PAK Dock Pros. This includes robust design, strong metal, and substantial gold plating. Our connector is rated for 10,000 insertions. By comparison, connectors on bare drives are not designed for multiple insertions, substantially putting your precious media content at risk.

PAK Media is protected in a rugged cast aluminum enclosure, designed to withstand tough environments and the occasional accidental drop.

PAKs are secured in a custom-designed hard aluminum enclosure, designed to protect the recording media. Conversely, bare drives, are intended for internal installation only and can suffer damage when used as portable media.

Compatibility

PAK drives are compatible with the current Ki Pro Ultra 12G and the legacy Ki Pro Ultra and Ki Pro Ultra Plus 4K/UltraHD/2K/HD file-based recorders and players.

The combination of these powerful devices and PAK storage creates an efficient workflow for capturing media as ProRes or DNx files and bringing it quickly and easily into the post-production environment in a high-quality file format that also maintains manageable file sizes.
