The Kramer VS-84YC
is a high quality, rack mountable, mechanical 8x4 switcher for
s-Video (YC) and stereo audio signals. It is designed to route
any one of up to eight sources to any one of four outputs using
4-pin connectors for s-Video, and RCA connectors for audio.
Audio is always switched together with the corresponding video
signal. Note that the VS-84YC can only provide one s-Video and
audio signal path at any given time. It cannot distribute an
s-Video and audio signal to multiple outputs simultaneously.
High quality switching components and carefully designed PCB’s
provide excellent isolation between inputs, and the passive
design of the VS-84YC makes it suitable for other signal
formats. Also, its unpowered design can be an advantage in
applications where various regulatory compliance would otherwise
be required. Unselected inputs are terminated via 75Ω resistors.
